The 5th ISFPP will be held at University of Limerick, lreland on June 14th-16th, 2025. Stay tuned for further information.

Building on the success of previous meetings of the International Society for Bioactive Peptides (ISBP) which has now been formally incorporated as the International Society for Food Peptides and Proteins (ISFPP), the 5th ISFPP symposium will take place at the University of Limerick, Limerick, Ireland during June 14th to 16th, 2027. The aim of this symposium will be to provide a forum for academic, industry and government scientists/professionals to share and discuss current knowledge and innovations in the area of bioactive peptides and proteins. It will provide opportunities for networking and collaboration while promoting the development of future scientific leaders/researchers in this rapidly growing field.

The overall theme of this year’s symposium will be the Advancement of Bioactive Food Peptides and Proteins Research. Key topics include 1) advanced strategies for the discovery and valorisation of bioactive peptides and proteins including omics, artificial intelligence and data science, 2) physiological mechanism(s) of action, 3) animal and human studies supporting the health benefits of bioactive peptides and proteins, 4) peptides and proteins related to weight loss, taste, metal binding, cosmetics, etc., 5) technological advancements in the development of scientifically validated consumer products, and 6) the current regulatory framework.

Attendees are welcomed from academia, industry and regulatory/government agencies. Young researchers and students are encouraged to attend, to present their results and to interact with scientific leaders in their field. The symposium will include a student flash talk competition.

The University of Limerick is located in the south-west of Ireland. The venue is situated on a large parkland campus on the banks of the river Shannon. It is a 20 min drive from Shannon International Airport and is readily accessible via the national public transport system.
